figuring that in new york city, after 10pm sunday, a table would be available at rosemary’s, we set off to this new restaurant in the west village without a reservation, and simply because rosemary’s does not take reservations. we were received with a non existing greeting which was as vacant as the venue was busy and buzzing. although there were a few tables available, we were told that the wait time for a seat was at best an hour. i made a quick mental recollection that randy, the concierge at my luvFAB Four Seasons New York, wanted us to try a restaurant that was nearby. minutes later, we were at the door of L’Artusi, and the smiling hostess was asking if we had a reservation. no reservation, i responded. no problem, and she offered a choice of either at the chef’s counter or a 5 minute wait for a table. we sat at the chef’s counter only an instant, as i spotted a charming server pouring wine at the adjoining main counter. we had just sat at the main counter, when our vacated seats were taken by a couple. it was Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. what is the chance that within minutes two individuals named ’emma’ occupy the same seat having no reservation? i shared this with Emma Stone and she said it was ‘kismet’. L’Artusi was quite busy at that late hour but the atmosphere was zen, the service staff attentive and the food was just outstanding. on sunday night, two emma’s sat at the same seat with no reservation. no reservation was just the way to a fortuitous destination. L’Artusi is now a luvFAB venue. kismet?this emma agrees with Emma Stone. kismet is for thebestdressup now!
